Significant Ceasefire Violations in Gaza During Ramadan’s First Week
Ismail Al-Thawabteh, the Director General of the Government Information Office in the Gaza Strip, reported a concerning rise in ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. In just the first week of this month, a staggering 71 incidents of infringement have been documented.
These violations represent a blatant disregard for the terms of the ceasefire agreement, resulting in the tragic deaths of six citizens and injuries to 32 others with various degrees of harm. Al-Thawabteh also highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis, noting that only 1,476 out of the 4,200 trucks scheduled to enter Gaza under the terms of the agreement have actually arrived, reflecting a compliance rate of approximately 35 percent. This shortfall has exacerbated the already dire humanitarian situation.
Furthermore, he addressed the restrictions imposed on the movement of citizens, revealing that only 499 out of 1,400 registered travelers have been permitted to exit. This limitation underscores the continued restrictions and the growing suffering of patients and students in the region.
