U.S. Experts Dispute Claims of Iran’s Nuclear Advancements

The Wall Street Journal has reported that American experts refute the assertions made by officials in Donald Trump’s administration particularly those from Steve Witkoff regarding Iran’s alleged progress toward developing nuclear weapons.

The Republican-leaning publication released satellite images of Iran stating that according to experts and diplomats Iran’s nuclear program has not made significant advancements since the United States and Israel targeted three major nuclear sites last June. This comes despite claims from Washington’s chief negotiator that Tehran could produce fissile material for a bomb within days.

The American newspaper pointed out that the lack of observable evidence indicating substantial progress in Iran’s nuclear ambitions over the past year raises questions about the rationale behind the Trump administration’s public declaration for potentially initiating a large-scale conflict in the Middle East. Trump has expressed a preference for a deal but remains willing to use force to ensure that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons.
