According to reports from the International News Agency, foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are convening today (Thursday) in Jeddah for an urgent session. This meeting will focus on the recent decisions made by the Israeli regime concerning the imposition of sovereignty over the occupied West Bank.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation stated in its announcement that this meeting is being held at the request of the Palestinian government to review the illegal actions taken by the Israeli regime regarding the annexation of the West Bank.Additionally the statement mentioned that an executive committee meeting at the ministerial level will be organized to coordinate the positions of member countries and explore possible actions to counter these decisions.

These developments follow the Israeli cabinet’s approval in February initiated by several ministers to commence the process of land registration in the West Bank—a move that marks the first of its kind since 1967.

Palestinians along with Arab and Islamic nations have described this action as a dangerous shift towards the annexation of Palestinian lands and have warned of its political and legal repercussions.
