Urgent Medical Evacuation Needed for Over 18,500 Patients in Gaza

The United Nations has reported that more than 18500 patients and injured individuals in the Gaza Strip including 4000 children urgently require evacuation for medical treatment outside the region.

During a press conference Stéphane Dujarric the spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General highlighted that restrictions imposed on border crossings and the severe delays in medical coordination have placed the lives of thousands at risk.

Dujarric emphasized that those in need of immediate transfer include war casualties cancer patients individuals suffering from kidney failure and children with complex congenital abnormalities all of whom cannot receive adequate care within the collapsing healthcare system in Gaza.
