Iran’s Challenges Rooted in External Hostility, Not Internal Issues

Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, emphasized that while internal reforms are essential for any government to address its shortcomings, the primary challenges facing Iran do not stem from within the country.

He pointed out that the significant obstacles are largely due to external hostilities, particularly from the United States and Israel. Araghchi asserted that Iran’s policy is focused on countering these external threats, ensuring self-defense, and safeguarding its citizens.

He also highlighted the example of President Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as a representative of internal reformists who have performed commendably. However, he reiterated that the majority of the nation’s issues are more related to external factors and structural challenges.
