UN and Jordan’s Foreign Minister Warn Against Ceasefire Violations in Gaza

The Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Foreign Minister of Jordan emphasized the critical need for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza during a recent phone conversation. They highlighted the importance of implementing all provisions of the agreement to ensure lasting peace in the region.

Both officials pointed to the dire situation faced by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) underscoring the necessity for regional and international cooperation to support this vital UN entity. Their discussion also addressed the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in light of the ongoing crisis.

During the call Ayman Safadi the Jordanian Foreign Minister issued a warning regarding the repercussions of the recent unlawful decisions made by the Israeli government. He noted the targeted actions aimed at annexing the West Bank through land confiscation under the guise of ‘state lands’ characterizing these measures as escalatory and a blatant violation of international law.
