Violent Assault on Susya: Settlers Set Homes Ablaze and Injure Residents

In a recent incident in Susya, located in the southern part of Hebron, dozens of Israeli settlers launched a violent attack on homes and properties. This assault, which occurred during the evening prayers of Taraweeh, saw settlers taking advantage of the congregation’s presence at the mosque.

According to Osama Makhamra, an anti-settlement activist in the region, the attackers set fire to a mobile caravan belonging to Khader Al-Nawaj’ah. In a brutal act, they also sprayed pepper gas at his family members, resulting in several injuries. Additionally, his vehicle was severely damaged during the attack.

The violence did not stop there; three tents belonging to Ahmad Al-Nawaj’ah and a sheep pen owned by Nasser Al-Nawaj’ah were also set ablaze. The aftermath of this aggressive assault left four individuals suffering from suffocation due to gas inhalation, as reported by the Red Crescent Society.This alarming event underscores the ongoing tensions in the area highlighting the vulnerability of local residents amid escalating settler violence. The community continues to grapple with the repercussions of such attacks which threaten their safety and livelihoods.
