Dr. Ghalibaf Responds to Trump’s Remarks in Congress
Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, addressed the recent statements made by former President Donald Trump during a congressional session. He emphasized that while negotiations were underway, the United States, in collaboration with the Israeli regime, launched an attack against Iran, resulting in a significant and embarrassing defeat, which Trump himself acknowledged.
In his remarks, Dr. Ghalibaf pointed out that Trump presented misleading statistics regarding the deaths of 32,000 individuals, reiterating this erroneous claim in Congress. He noted that the very groups providing these figures have a history of terrorism and have committed atrocities within Iran, leading to the loss of 17,000 lives, including ordinary citizens, the President, the Prime Minister, and members of Parliament. Despite this tragic history, such unfounded statements continue to circulate.
Dr. Ghalibaf referenced a comment made on February 11 by an individual named Witkoff, questioning why the Iranian people do not feel fear. The answer, he asserted, is clear: there is a profound misunderstanding and lack of knowledge regarding the Iranian nation.
He concluded by cautioning Trump against making decisions based on inaccurate information, reminding him of the consequences of the past actions taken during negotiations.
