According to reports from the international news agency Tasnim, Mahmoud Bassal, the spokesperson for Civil Defense in Gaza, announced today that the Gaza Strip is experiencing a worsening humanitarian crisis due to ongoing airstrikes, civilian casualties, and the obstruction of aid deliveries.

Bassal emphasized that the war has not concluded; instead, its dynamics have transformed, leaving residents grappling with severe living conditions and the near-total collapse of infrastructure. He noted that aid is being delivered on a ‘drip’ basis, as border crossings are operating at only about 40% of their capacity, allowing just 43% of the humanitarian needs to be met.

Recent rains have exacerbated the situation, flooding thousands of refugee tents and leading to disease outbreaks, with even a brief downpour sufficient to inundate numerous shelters. The mayor of Gaza also highlighted the catastrophic state of the enclave, asserting that Gaza remains embroiled in conflict, with conditions deteriorating further and incoming supplies being tightly controlled.

He pointed out the wear and tear on tents due to the rain and mentioned that the entry of tents and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip has significantly slowed.Despite more than four months since the ceasefire began in the Gaza Strip the Israeli regime continues to violate this agreement in various ways. Alongside ongoing and brutal bombardments which have intensified in the past week a heavy blockade against the enclave persists. Medical sources in Gaza have also warned about the sudden closure of the Martyrs of Al-Aqsa Hospital in the center of the Strip.
