On Tuesday afternoon, March 5, 2025, Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Lebanon’s unique and significant position in Iran’s foreign policy during the official reception of Mr. Ahmad Suidan, the new Lebanese ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The President remarked on the deep emotional and historical ties between the two nations, stating that the relationship between Iran and Lebanon is not merely political. Instead, it is founded on cultural, ideological, and heartfelt commonalities that unite the two peoples, allowing them to share in each other’s joys and sorrows.Pezeshkian stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran consistently follows developments in Lebanon with concern, asserting that our sincere wish is for the Lebanese people to live in peace, stability, and tranquility, free from the threats and conspiracies of the Israeli regime.

He characterized the repeated assaults and inhumane expansionist actions of the Israeli regime as the central challenge and a key factor of instability and insecurity in Lebanon and the broader region. He emphasized that attacks on defenseless citizens, the assassination of influential figures, and the regime’s expansionist and war-mongering policies target regional security and stability.The President’s stance regarding these actions is clear, resolute, and based on supporting the rights of the peoples in the region.

Pezeshkian also highlighted Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation and interaction with all Arab and Islamic countries, including Lebanon, adding that developing relations with Lebanon is a priority for us. The role of the new ambassador will be crucial in strengthening and deepening these relations.During the ceremony, Ahmad Suidan, the new Lebanese ambassador in Tehran, expressed his happiness at meeting with our President and wished success and honor for the Iranian government and people in facing upcoming challenges. He described the President’s remarks as encouraging during this sensitive period for both Iran and Lebanon.

Suidan noted the depth of relations between the two countries, stating that the ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran are part of the culture and daily life of the Lebanese people. Therefore, he believes that pressures against these relations will not achieve their goals.The new ambassador also emphasized the commitment of high-ranking officials from both countries to continue and strengthen cooperation expressing confidence that the Tehran-Beirut relationship will elevate to a level befitting the two nations. This path will honor the sacrifices and struggles shared by both peoples.

Suidan conveyed the greetings of the Lebanese President to his Iranian counterpart and underscored the serious commitment of the Lebanese government to maintain ongoing communication and consultations with the Islamic Republic of Iran describing the future of relations between the two countries as bright and expanding.
