Student Protests Against National Symbol Insults in Iran

In response to a coordinated insult against national symbols by a small group, students across Tehran and various provinces gathered today, proudly waving the tricolor flag of Iran. The week commenced with ceremonies honoring the martyrs and victims of the January 18 coup at several universities.

Opposition groups, still reeling from their failure during the January 18 coup, attempted to exploit this situation by instigating fabricated protests to create an atmosphere of insecurity and chaos. However, the vigilance of the majority of students thwarted these efforts.

At Sharif University, students, holding a large tricolor flag, united in singing the national anthem. Meanwhile, students at the University of Science and Technology burned flags of the United States and the Zionist regime, demanding decisive action against those inciting unrest and disrespecting national symbols.

Students from Shahid Beheshti University, while brandishing the tricolor flag, chanted, ‘O free leader, we are ready!’ At Tehran University, students gathered at the engineering faculty and the main courtyard, voicing their support for the sacred Islamic Republic system.

Today, Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University also resonated with students chanting ‘God is Great.’ At Alzahra University, students declared, ‘Iran is our homeland and sanctuary.’ Both students and faculty members called for action against those disrupting the peace and security of academic institutions across the nation.

The Minister of Science, Research, and Technology emphasized, through a video message on social media, that no Iranian accepts insults to national symbols, such as the beloved Iranian flag. He stressed the distinction between protest and chaos, affirming that serious measures would be taken against those engaging in disorderly conduct within disciplinary councils.
