Ali Fayez, a representative in the Lebanese parliament and a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, has underscored the alarming increase in Israeli aggression. He reported a massacre in the Bekaa Valley, where homes of civilians and densely populated neighborhoods were targeted, leading to the tragic deaths of 10 citizens and injuries to around 30 others.

Fayez made these remarks during a memorial event held by Hezbollah for the martyr Saeed Ahmad Hussein Tarmas (Abu Hussein) at the Imam Al-Mujtaba Complex in San Teriz. The gathering was attended by Amin Shari, another parliament member from the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, Ali Hassan Khalil from the Development and Freedom bloc, and Tuwafik Samadi, the charge d’affaires of the Iranian embassy in Lebanon. Also present were Hussein Fadlallah, Hezbollah’s representative in the Beirut region, various scholars, activists, notable figures, families of martyrs, and local residents.

Fayez emphasized that the most dangerous aspect of this intensified military action is Israel’s official stance, which has declared its intention to maintain occupied areas within Lebanon as a security buffer. This declaration should not be overlooked in Beirut’s calculations and assessments of Lebanon’s situation and position. He further stated “The Israeli enemy’s pressure to disarm the resistance is not a precursor to its retreat but rather a necessary step to preserve its occupied territories in Lebanon. The Israeli enemy aims to eliminate the resistance’s weapons maintain its occupied lands continue violating Lebanon’s sovereignty assert its ongoing right to target anything it perceives as a threat within Lebanese territory and ultimately impose a security agreement on Lebanon that would normalize relations and facilitate economic exchanges.”

Fayez questioned the benefits for Lebanon in this scenario stating “Nothing will be gained—no security no sovereignty no stability and no return of residents to their border villages.” He raised a critical concern: “Does this not imply that the current negotiation path pursued by the Lebanese government under American cover has turned into a futile and meaningless endeavor for Lebanon? This reflects a surrender to evident and dangerous conditions that yield no benefits for Lebanon but rather pose a serious threat to its interests.”
