Israeli Finance Minister Acknowledges Inability to Eradicate Hamas After Two Years of Conflict

Betzalel Smotrich the Finance Minister of the Israeli government has openly admitted the failure to eliminate Hamas despite over two years of ongoing conflict in Gaza. He emphasized that Tel Aviv has not abandoned its objective of destroying Hamas.

Smotrich stated “We have not given up on the goal of annihilating Hamas and are allowing the President of the United States to approach this issue in his own manner.” He further mentioned that should Donald Trump be unsuccessful in eradicating Hamas the Israeli Defense Forces will seek international legitimacy and American support to carry out this mission.

Additionally the Israeli Finance Minister announced that Hamas will soon be warned regarding the surrender of weapons facilities and tunnels. He asserted that if there is no compliance Israel will secure the necessary legitimacy for independent military operations.
