According to a report from the Hebrew news agency Tasnim, the Ma’ariv newspaper cited Western media sources, revealing that a significant number of crew members and military personnel aboard the USS Gerald Ford, deployed to the Middle East under orders from Donald Trump, have expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the extension of their mission. They have threatened that upon their return, they will no longer serve in the Navy. The report highlights that several crew members, in conversations with American media, have complained about the disruption to their personal lives caused by the extended deployment. They emphasized that Trump’s directive to prolong the USS Gerald Ford’s mission has placed a heavy burden on them and their families, prompting many to decide to leave the military as soon as they return home.Typically aircraft carrier missions last around six months; however the personnel on this ship have been at sea for over eight months far away from their homes. One sailor conveyed to the media that the crew is extremely frustrated with some openly stating they will resign from service upon their return. Another crew member noted that the continuous extensions have significantly increased the challenges associated with this deployment.
