According to reports from the Mehr News Agency, the Palestinian Prisoners Center has revealed that Israeli soldiers have arrested over 100 citizens, including women and children, in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem since Ramadan commenced.

This alarming surge in arrests coincides with the announcement of intensified military operations by Israeli forces throughout the holy month. The detentions have been widespread across various provinces in the West Bank, particularly in occupied Jerusalem.Israeli occupiers continue to escalate field interrogations, part of a broader campaign of collective retribution targeting all segments of Palestinian society. Since the onset of the Gaza genocide, these actions have become increasingly pervasive.

The center highlighted a series of atrocities committed against Palestinian detainees, including severe beatings, organized assassination attempts on detainees and their families, home demolitions, property confiscations, and the destruction of infrastructure. Moreover, the use of family members of prisoners as hostages, employing detainees as human shields, executing field executions, and exploiting arrests as a pretext to expand settlements in the West Bank while supporting aggressive settlers against Palestinians are among the other actions taken by Israeli forces. The center emphasized that the current crimes are a continuation of a decades-long occupation strategy aimed at undermining Palestinian existence and imposing further tools of repression, control, and surveillance. The only notable change in recent years is the significant escalation in the severity of these crimes since the beginning of the Gaza genocide. The Palestinian Prisoners Center reiterated that the occupiers persist in executing systematic arrest operations with the number of detainees in the West Bank reaching approximately 22000 since the Gaza genocide.
