According to reports from Mehr News Agency citing Palestine Today, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) reacted to the Israeli Prime Minister’s recent assertion regarding the establishment of a new coalition against regional countries.
Hazem Qassem stated, “We emphasize that the Israeli Prime Minister’s comments about forming a new axis, which includes some Arab countries, blatantly disregard influential Arab nations in the region and pose a direct threat to their strategic interests.”He continued, “This proposal reflects a domineering mindset and an attempt to impose regional leadership through force, while the occupying regime is fundamentally alien to the region, its history, and its identity. What is happening is an effort to reshape regional alliances solely to serve the interests of the occupiers, not the people of the region. The explicit support of the United States for these approaches encourages the occupiers to pursue policies that are fundamentally at odds with Arab interests.”The Hamas spokesperson stressed, “These movements are exploiting the weakness that the Arab collective has faced during the genocidal war against Gaza. We urge Arab countries to recognize the dangers of these plans and their implications for the security and stability of the region.”
In conclusion, Hazem Qassem asserted that any coalition formed at the expense of Palestinian rights will not foster stability but will only exacerbate tensions and conflicts.Today the Israeli Prime Minister announced during a cabinet meeting a plan to form a coalition including India several Arab African and Mediterranean countries such as Cyprus and Greece. He claimed that the goal of this coalition is to counter “radical Shiite and Sunni blocs in the Middle East.”
