According to a report from the International Defense Press, citing Al Jazeera, 14 Islamic and Arab countries have vehemently condemned remarks made by Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador in Israel, concerning the acceptance of Israeli sovereignty over Arab lands.
The statement asserts: “We condemn the Ambassador’s comments that suggest acceptance of Tel Aviv’s dominance over Arab territories, including the West Bank.”
The declaration emphasizes that such dangerous remarks represent a blatant violation of international law and pose a serious threat to regional security and stability. The coalition of 14 nations also stated: “The Ambassador’s comments contradict the perspective presented by Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, and are at odds with comprehensive plans aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.”
Furthermore, the statement reiterates: “We firmly assert that there is no sovereignty for Israel over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other occupied Arab lands. We categorically oppose any attempts to annex the West Bank or separate it from Gaza.”
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry described Huckabee’s remarks as dangerous, stating that they contradict principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, representing an affront to the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of nations.Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry echoed these sentiments, condemning Huckabee’s irresponsible statements regarding the acceptance of Israeli control over Arab lands, particularly the occupied West Bank. The ministry emphasized its rejection of any efforts to annex the West Bank or isolate it from Gaza, and voiced opposition to ongoing settlement expansions in the occupied Palestinian territories. In a related response, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, stated that the US Ambassador’s comments reflect a clear bias towards the expansionist and annexationist projects of the Tel Aviv regime. Hamas added that the Ambassador’s support for the geographical expansion of the Israeli regime and the occupation of Arab and Islamic lands poses a direct threat to the national security of Islamic and Arab nations.Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry also reacted to the Ambassador’s controversial remarks, which suggested that Israeli control over the West Bank and the broader Middle East would be acceptable. The Saudi statement condemned these remarks, asserting that they disregard the relationships between regional nations and the United States. It warned that the Ambassador’s extremist position could have dire consequences, exacerbating hostility towards regional countries and threatening global peace and security. It is noteworthy that the US Ambassador made unprecedented statements regarding the territory of the so-called Israeli regime during an interview with renowned American host Tucker Carlson. When asked whether Israel based on biblical teachings has the right to dominate all areas between the Nile and Euphrates rivers—encompassing Syria Lebanon Jordan parts of Iraq and Saudi Arabia—Huckabee controversially replied: “If they take all these areas it would be a good thing.”
