According to a report by Mehr News Agency, Isaac Brik, a retired major general of the Israeli army and former commissioner for military complaints, stated that the rhetoric surrounding a ‘complete victory’ over Hezbollah and Iran is merely a facade to mislead the public. He also cautioned about the looming threat of social disintegration and the fragmentation of the Israeli army.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv, which reported on these statements, noted that Brik expressed concern that while Israel faces a strategic stagnation, its adversaries are actively rebuilding and enhancing their capabilities.Brik pointed out the lack of effective policy-making among Israeli leaders indicating that military intelligence and political heads in Tel Aviv are shirking responsibility rather than owning up to their roles. He further emphasized that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports this trend prioritizing the survival of his coalition over Israel’s security.

He warned that if Israel continues on its current trajectory it risks complete international isolation and the loss of sovereignty to major powers. This path could lead to social collapse due to unequal responsibility sharing military disintegration and a significant security erosion turning the events of October 7 into just the beginning of a multi-front confrontation that threatens the very existence of Israelis.
