According to reports from Mashregh and Al-Rai Al-Youm, Atwan highlights the deadly attack on Sunday in Sydney, questioning why we should dismiss the possibility of Mossad’s involvement in the assault during Jewish celebrations. He speculates that this incident could be a premeditated act by Israel aimed at enhancing Tel Aviv’s image amidst a new strategic agenda.
Atwan asserts that the goal is to revive the narrative of anti-Semitism, which had diminished following the Gaza genocide, while also punishing Australia for recognizing the Palestinian state. He emphasizes that the greatest threat to Judaism is Zionism, epitomized by Benjamin Netanyahu, whose hands are stained with the blood of over seventy thousand Palestinians, including ten thousand children. Netanyahu has displaced one and a half million Palestinians by destroying their homes and has kept them starving by obstructing aid, even turning food distribution centers into sites of execution.
The editor of Al-Rai Al-Youm continues, stating that Netanyahu indirectly revealed his possible involvement in the attack when he pointed fingers at the Australian Prime Minister, blaming her government for fueling anti-Semitism due to its recognition of the Palestinian state and the two-state solution.Netanyahu seems to have forgotten that his orders led to the deaths of over five hundred patients, medical personnel, and infants in Al-Mu’min Hospital within five minutes, as well as targeting over five thousand Lebanese during bombings in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Baalbek, and southern Lebanon.
Atwan questions why anyone should be surprised if Zionism is behind this attack, while the blame is directed towards Arabs and Muslims. He adds that the myth of ‘Jewish victimhood,’ which has been exploited for extorting billions from the West and perpetuating the narrative of ‘victimhood’ and exaggerating the Holocaust, is now crumbling as the world witnesses the devastation and starvation inflicted upon the residents of Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Yemen. This false propaganda has been dismantled, with global citizens standing in solidarity with the victims in Gaza. Millions of Jews have distanced themselves from the Zionist project, viewing it as a threat to their existence. They perceive Zionism as a danger to security and peace in the societies where they live.Atwan concludes by stating that Netanyahu has failed to achieve his war objectives in Gaza the West Bank Lebanon Yemen and Iran and is now seeking a pretext to continue his warmongering. The Sydney attack may very well be one of those pretexts especially after Netanyahu blamed Iran which condemned the attack for its occurrence.
Following the shooting incident during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah in Bondi Beach Sydney at least twelve people were killed and twenty-nine others were injured. The Israeli Prime Minister accused the Australian government of spreading anti-Jewish sentiment making this statement just hours after the attack.
