Recently the Israeli security cabinet approved a significant measure that marks the initiation of land settlement and official registration processes in extensive areas of the West Bank for the first time since the occupation began in 1967.
This pivotal decision empowers the Israeli cabinet to designate numerous regions as ‘state lands’ effectively transferring ownership to the state. By classifying these lands as ‘public properties’ the legal groundwork is laid for the expansion of Israeli settlements and the development of new constructions in these territories.
