The past week has witnessed significant events across Europe, America, and Latin America, including the second round of Iran’s nuclear negotiations, peace talks for Ukraine in Geneva, a bomb threat in Paris, U.S. sanctions against Cuba, and the allocation of $10 billion for the reconstruction of Gaza.

The indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States took place on February 17, facilitated by the diplomatic efforts of Oman. At the conclusion of this round of talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed that there had been considerable progress compared to the previous session, noting a more constructive atmosphere in the discussions.

In Paris, French newspaper Le Figaro confirmed reports from police sources regarding a bomb threat that had previously been reported by other media outlets, including BFM TV, which mentioned the evacuation of the Montparnasse Tower and the Political Science Institute of Paris.In a related development U.S. President Donald Trump has blocked the shipment of crude oil from Venezuela to Cuba threatening to impose tariffs on all countries particularly Mexico that supply oil to the island.

During the inaugural meeting of the ‘Peace Committee’ held in Washington the U.S. President announced a commitment of $10 billion to this initiative expressing hope that this mechanism could play a crucial role in establishing a fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
