According to reports from Israeli Channel 7, the Israeli military has released a summary of its casualty data for 2025. The report highlights a significant increase in deaths by suicide, drawing critical attention.

In 2025, the Israeli military recorded 21 suicides, marking the highest rate in the past 15 years. This alarming trend reflects a continuous rise in suicide cases among soldiers.The report indicates that a total of 151 Israeli soldiers lost their lives this year for various reasons. Notably, the number of suicides stands out among these figures.

Of the total fatalities in 2025, 88 soldiers died during operational activities, 15 due to illness, 3 in resistance operations, and 21 in accidents. Additionally, 21 cases have been categorized as ‘suspected suicides.’In response to the escalating mental health crisis, the Israeli military has expanded its healthcare services. Since the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, over a thousand mental health officers have been deployed across all military branches.

Each unit is now assigned a dedicated mental health officer, and many of these professionals are providing immediate emotional and psychological support in combat zones following complex incidents.Historically the Israeli military has censored its casualty figures to manage public perception; however it cannot deny the growing number of soldier deaths particularly those attributed to suicide.
