According to reports, Hussein al-Haj Hassan, a Lebanese parliament representative from Hezbollah, asserted on Sunday that ‘there is no place for surrender in our lexicon, and if we face aggressive attacks, we have the right to defend ourselves.’

He addressed Tel Aviv, declaring, ‘The resistance remains steadfast and is prepared to defend Lebanon and its interests.’He highlighted the current priorities for Lebanon, which include ‘stopping aggression, withdrawing Israeli occupying forces from Lebanese territory, freeing prisoners, rebuilding affected areas, and discussing a national defense strategy.’
Al-Haj Hassan reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, stating, ‘Lebanon has adhered to this resolution, but Israel has not complied and has violated the ceasefire agreement; therefore, I emphasize that there is no place for surrender in our lexicon, and we reserve our right to self-defense in the event of aggression.’He also touched upon the topic of elections expressing Hezbollah’s desire to hold elections on schedule. Furthermore he mentioned the importance of strengthening internal relations adding ‘In the past there have been many attempts to isolate or harm the Shiite national coalition (Hezbollah and Amal Movement) but our relationship with the Amal Movement is strong and solid and it will continue to strengthen day by day.’
