According to reports from Russia Today, Egypt has declared that the recent movements by the Israeli regime in the West Bank aim to solidify its occupation and undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The statement highlights Tel Aviv’s efforts to seize more land in the West Bank, emphasizing that these actions represent a blatant violation of international law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and various United Nations Security Council resolutions.Egypt asserted that these policies contradict the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice in 2024, which deemed the alteration of the legal, historical, and demographic status in the occupied Palestinian territories illegitimate and called for an end to Israeli occupation.
Cairo warned that such actions jeopardize the viability of the two-state solution and obstruct the establishment of a Palestinian state, ultimately escalating tensions and instability in the occupied territories and the broader region.Recently the Israeli cabinet approved its first official move to appropriate land in the West Bank since 1967. This action enables the Israeli regime to expand settlements on Palestinian land with greater ease.
